Uçan Köfteci Selected for IFFR
This year, the film Flying Meatball Maker was selected for IFFR 2025 — an incredible milestone for the cast and crew. D’art Duvar is proud to contribute to the visual and conceptual identity of this unique production.
About the Film
Kadir makes meatballs. Kadir dreams of flying. Those two facts may seem at odds, but for our hopeful protagonist they are inseparable.
Kadir spends his days preparing köfte with his wife Azize, which he sells in the evenings from his popular street stall. In every spare moment, he devours podcasts, online tutorials, and conversations about the science of flight. Like Daedalus and Icarus before him, Kadir is determined to reach the sky.
His machine of choice?
A parachute he barely controls and a caged propeller strapped to his back — just as dangerous as it looks.
When Kadir meets a seasoned paramotor pilot willing to teach him the craft, his progress takes off. But the higher his ambitions rise, the more his responsibilities at home become uncertain. Azize’s gossiping family has its opinions, and not a single one is supportive.
Directed by Rezan Yeşilbaş, this debut feature balances politics, humor, and humanity—a contemplative, heartfelt tragicomedy that explores dreams, constraints, and the desire to lift off from the everyday.

Joining the film as part of its creative team was an enriching experience for D’art Duvar. We are especially proud to have designed and produced the official film poster for The Flying Meatball Maker, bringing the film’s imagery, emotion, and essence together into one visual identity. Sharing this work with the international audience at Rotterdam was truly a highlight of IFFR 2025.
